Cookie Policy

This policy describes cookies and similar technologies used on oriel.page.

Updated August 18, 2026

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session tokens. Together, we refer to these as “cookies” in this policy.

How Oriel uses cookies

We use cookies to operate oriel.page, keep you signed in, remember preferences, and — when enabled — understand how the product is used.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the Service to function. They include authentication session cookies managed by Better Auth so you stay logged in securely. Without them, you cannot access your dashboard or edit your page.

Functional

We may store UI preferences (such as editor state or theme previews) in local storage to improve your experience. These are not used for advertising.

Analytics (planned)

We plan to deploy PostHog analytics with EU data hosting to understand feature usage and improve Oriel. When analytics cookies are activated, we will list specific cookies here and, where required by law, request consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Third-party cookies

When you sign in with Google OAuth or complete a Stripe checkout, those providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies. Embedded widgets (Social, Embed) on your public page may also load third-party content that sets cookies outside our control.

Cookie duration

  • Session cookies — expire when you close your browser or log out
  • Persistent cookies — remain until expiry or deletion; authentication cookies typically last up to 7 days unless you log out

Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using logged-in features of Oriel.

For analytics opt-out (when available), we will provide controls in account settings or a consent banner as required in your region.

Do Not Track

Oriel does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals. We will revisit this if regulatory guidance or our analytics approach changes.
