Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account, accessing, or using Oriel (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Who we are

Oriel is a modular link-in-bio page builder that lets you create a customizable grid page at oriel.page/yourname. The Service includes widgets (Link, Bio, Image, Social, Embed, and Product), themes, hosting, and optional commerce features powered by Stripe Connect.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Oriel. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials secure.

Your account

You may register with email and password or sign in via Google OAuth (provided through Better Auth). You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at abuse@oriel.page if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload or publish through Oriel, including text, images, links, and product listings. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, display, transmit, and process your content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, serving your public page, storing images on Cloudflare R2, and processing orders through Stripe.

You represent that you have the rights to all content you publish and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate law. See our DMCA Policy for copyright complaints.

Plans and fees

Oriel offers Free, Pro, and Commerce subscription tiers. Platform transaction fees on product sales vary by plan: 12% on Free, 5% on Pro, and 0% on Commerce. Stripe payment processing fees apply separately and are charged by Stripe, not Oriel.

Subscription billing, when available, is processed through Stripe Billing. Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Refund terms are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Commerce

If you sell products through Oriel, you must also comply with our Seller & Commerce Terms. Oriel is not the merchant of record for product sales. You are the seller; buyers checkout via Stripe, and payouts are sent to your connected Stripe Express account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes spam, malware, fraud, harassment, illegal content, and attempts to circumvent security or fee structures. Full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy.

Intellectual property

Oriel's name, logo, software, themes, and design elements are our intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you rights to our branding or underlying technology except as needed to use the Service.

Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties including Stripe (payments), Google (OAuth), Cloudflare (image storage), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and planned PostHog analytics (EU). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for third-party links, embeds, or content on your page, or for buyer–seller disputes arising from commerce transactions.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oriel and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oriel from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your sales to buyers, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, risk to the platform, or extended inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms) will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
