Seller & Commerce Terms

If you sell products through Oriel's Product widget, these terms apply in addition to our Terms of Service.

Updated August 18, 2026

Overview

Oriel lets creators sell digital and physical products directly on their link-in-bio page using the Product widgetand embedded Stripe checkout. These Seller & Commerce Terms (“Seller Terms”) govern your use of commerce features.

Oriel is not the merchant of record. You are the seller. Buyers purchase from you; payments are processed by Stripe. You must comply with these Seller Terms, our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.

Eligibility

To sell on Oriel you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (18+ where required for contracts in your jurisdiction)
  • Complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding and remain in good standing
  • Provide accurate business and tax information to Stripe as required
  • Have the legal right to sell everything you list
  • Comply with all laws applicable to your products and buyers' locations

Stripe Connect

Commerce on Oriel is powered by Stripe Connect Express. By enabling selling, you agree to Stripe's terms and authorize Oriel to create and manage a connected account on your behalf. Stripe handles payment collection, fraud tools, and payouts to your bank account per Stripe's schedule and policies.

Oriel does not hold buyer funds. Payout timing, reserve holds, and account restrictions are determined by Stripe based on risk, geography, and compliance review.

Platform fees

Oriel charges a platform transaction fee on each sale, based on your subscription plan:

  • Free — 12% platform fee
  • Pro — 5% platform fee
  • Commerce — 0% platform fee

Platform fees are deducted from the transaction before your Stripe payout. Stripe processing fees(card network and Stripe charges) also apply and are separate from Oriel's platform fee. Fee amounts are shown during checkout setup and in your seller dashboard when available.

Your responsibilities as seller

You are solely responsible for:

  • Product descriptions, pricing, taxes, and delivery of digital or physical goods
  • Customer support, refunds, and chargebacks (see our Refund Policy)
  • Compliance with consumer protection, distance selling, and export laws
  • Collecting and remitting applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST where required
  • Honoring your stated refund and cancellation policies

Oriel provides tooling to list products and accept payment — we do not guarantee sales, delivery, or buyer satisfaction.

Product listings

Product widget listings must be accurate and not misleading. Prohibited products include those listed in our Acceptable Use Policy and Stripe's restricted businesses list (e.g., illegal goods, counterfeit items, certain regulated products).

Plan limits apply: Free and Pro include up to 5 products; Commerce includes up to 10. Storage limits for files and images apply per plan.

Chargebacks and disputes

Buyers may dispute charges with their bank or card issuer. Stripe will notify you of chargebacks; you are responsible for responding with evidence. Excessive chargebacks may result in Stripe restrictions or Oriel account suspension.

Oriel is not liable for chargeback losses, negative balances on your Stripe account, or Stripe collection actions.

Refunds

Refund practices are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. As the seller, you should process refunds through Stripe for your sales unless otherwise required by law.

Tax forms and reporting

Stripe may collect tax information (e.g., W-9, W-8) and issue tax forms where required. You are responsible for reporting income from sales on your tax returns.

Suspension and termination

We may disable commerce features or terminate your account for policy violations, fraud risk, or Stripe account closure. Outstanding platform fees and chargebacks may survive termination.
